Autumn 2 - Respect
This half term we are exploring our core Value of Respect. Already the children have been discussing what this means in school and in the wider world. It is wonderful to listen to the children's ideas and observe them showing each other respect by listening to each other and accepting that it is ok to have a different opinion.
Unfortunately, we were unable to visit the War Memorial for the traditional Remembrance Service in the village. However, we were delighted to join with Exford School, parents and Governors to take part in a virtual Remembrance Service on Wednesday 11th November. Thank you to Rev Butt and Rev Weir for organising this. The children were able to put our Value of Respect into practice as they listened and contributed to the service. In days leading up to the Remembrance Day, the School Council have been busy selling poppies on behalf of the Royal British Legion.
They also painted stones with Poppies and laid these on the village War Memorial.
